Confession time:
I have many, many, many introverted tendencies.
Does this surprise you? Does it feel strange to be taking public speaking tips from someone who prefers one-on-one coffee chats to huge parties? Or likes to recharge with a journal on a sun dappled patio rather than in a big yoga class?
Well, there are lots of good things that accompany those introverted traits (like being a good listener). In today’s video, I share three things I learned from Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking and from my own discoveries of my introverted nature. Check out Susan Cain’s awesome TED talk about her book as well. Very enlightening!
In the comments below, tell me: are you an introvert or an extrovert? How do you harness those qualities in work and in life?
P.S. Do you know someone who’s fighting their introverted nature? Send them a link to this video!
P.P.S. If you’re an introvert who’s been asked to present or lead and you’d like some one-on-one help, I can do that!
